Company Profile:
Sometimes referred to as “Big Blue” IBM is a multinational corporation headquartered in Armonk, New York. It manufactures computer hardware and software and provides information technology and services.
(1) A component of CICSPlex SM that creates and manages queues of data in a cache that is shared by a CMAS and its local MASs.
(2) An IMS component that manages IMS messages and the space the messages occupy. The IMS Queue Manager is part of a DB/DC or DCCTL environment.
Industry:Software
(1) A persistent storage area for data and other application resources.
(2) A collection of information about the queue managers that are members of a cluster. This information includes queue manager names, their locations, their channels, what queues they host, and so on.
(3) A VSAM data set on which the states of BTS processes are stored. When a process is not executing under the control of BTS, its state (and the states of its constituent activities) are preserved by being written to a repository data set. The states of all processes of a particular process-type (and of their activity instances) are stored on the same repository data set. Records for multiple process-types can be written to the same repository.
(4) A persistent storage area where packages are available for download.
Industry:Software
(1) A component of the client kernel that provides protocol support for the client.
(2) A station that consists of a control unit (a cluster controller) and the terminals attached to it.
Industry:Software
(1) A person or role that has interest in and influence on the system.
(2) An individual who is materially affected by the outcome of the system. See also customer.
(3) An individual or organization that is involved in or may be affected by project activities.
Industry:Software
(1) A component or service that is needed before a component can be installed. In other words, the components, resources, or services listed as prerequisites of a component must be installed before the component can be installed.
(2) A hardware or software requirement that is fulfilled by a capability.
Industry:Software
(1) A person who creates or modifies components of the WebSphere business integration system, such as connectors, collaborations, business objects, and maps. The developer typically uses IBM-provided templates or existing components as the basis for developing new ones.
(2) A person responsible for developing the required software functions that conform to project standards and procedures. This work can include performing activities in any of the requirements, analysis and design, implementation, and test disciplines.
Industry:Software
(1) A computer program that performs functions such as scheduling, initiation, and termination of jobs.
(2) A multithread, multiprocess background server designed to handle the scheduling and launching of jobs, based on a simple timing scheme. See also broadcast job.
(3) A service that provides time-dependent services.
Industry:Software
(1) A person who is responsible for ensuring that all software assets are controlled and and can be released as required.
(2) A defined role in Release Process Manager. Multiple users can have this role; the release manager can create and own a release and transfer ownership to another release manager.
Industry:Software
(1) A computer that is connected to a network and provides an access point to that network. The host can be a client, a server, or both a client and server simultaneously. See also server, client.
(2) In a cooperative processing environment, the system running the server program with which the CoOperative Development Environment/400 session communicates.
(3) In TCP/IP, any system that has at least one Internet address associated with it.
(4) In performance profiling, a machine that owns processes that are being profiled. See also server.
(5) The controlling or highest-level system in a data communications configuration.
Industry:Software
(1) A person with Manager access to a Notes database, whose responsibilities include setting up and maintaining access to the database and monitoring database replication, usage, and size.
(2) A program that manages data by providing centralized control, data independence, and complex physical structures for efficient access, integrity, recovery, concurrency control, privacy, and security. See also data server.
(3) A program used to create and maintain a database and to communicate with programs requiring access to the database.
