MWC personnel, in coordination with other centers, validate and confirm report events. The Launch Correlation Unit (LCU) of the MWC ensures all domestic and cooperative launches are coordinated and reported so that they are not construed as hostile in accordance with the “Agreement on Measures to Reduce the Risk of Outbreak of Nuclear War” between the US and USSR.
