Five-foot-long (1.52-m-long) sections of tubing 24 in (61 cm) in internal diameter are worked into the ground from their mounting on a tractor, the spoil being at the same time removed by means of a bucket or grab. In suitable ground 50 ft (15.2 m) or more depth has been reached.
