In the bulletin of the Autonomous Service for Intellectual Property (SAPI) No. 459 of November 4, 2003 it was reported that Ron Designation of Venezuela is a denomination of origin of the Venezuelan State to apply to the alcoholic beverage Ron, and may be applied only the exact concept of Ron given COVENIN, to the benefit of producers that groups CHAMBER OF INDUSTRY OF ALCOHOLIC VENEZUELAN SPECIES (CIVEA), all for having complied with the requirements of Articles 201, 202, 203, 204 Decision 486 of the Andean Community of Nations.

Features and raw materials used to manufacture the product and the process for its preparation, be imposed in addition to the COVENIN, those established in the REGULATORY BOARD or any other figure in order.

Under the previous recognition RON DE VENEZUELA designation of origin of the Venezuelan state and because it can be used by those who have the corresponding usage authorization granted by the Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property.

The beneficiaries of the appellation RON DE VENEZUELA or public or private entities representing to develop and provide mechanisms to enable effective control of the use of the protected designation of origin are encouraged by specific rules in a BOARD REGULATOR or a related figure, all in accordance with what is covered in Article 213 of Decision 486 of the Andean Community of Nations.

Having Registration of DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN RUM OF VENEZUELA in the Book of Appellations of Autonomous Service of Industrial Property, and assign the corresponding registration number.
