The Salses Castle is an original Spanish castle that was founded in France’s plateau of plateau de Roussillon in Eastern Pyrenean Mountain region. This castle was built on a narrow flat streak of land that is along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. In 218 BC, the army of Hannibal made their passage through it to go to Italy, and they name it Castle Salse that came from the word Salinas Fons that mean salty sources.
This salty source’s name was given after two sources of salt water discovered during the construction of salses castle, the site has been believed to have been buried halfly in the ground. The castle was built between 1467 and 1504 by the Spanish architect for King Ferdinand of Aragon who was the king of Spain during the discovery of the new world in the place of an earlier castle.
