Wolong National Nature Reserve is a comprehensive state natural reserve of 200,000 hectares in the east Qionglai Mountains region located in Sichuan Province, China. Begun in 1963, Wolong National Natural Reserve is the earliest and largest panda reserve in China. It was placed on UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve Network in 1980. Wolong National Nature Reserve houses more than 150 highly endangered giant pandas. The reserve is also a home to over 4,000 different species including many other endangered species including: red pandas, golden monkeys, white-lipped deer and many precious plants.
Wildlife observation spots within the Wolong National Natural Reserve attract explorers, tourists, animal-lovers as well as scientists from around the world. Every year more than 100, 000 visitors come to the reserve.
