cocoa powder and chocolate

Products derived from the seeds of the tropical tree Theobroma cacao, which grows within a narrow belt along both sides of the Equator. There are three basic varieties: Criollo, which was native to Central and South America; Forastero, which constitutes the bulk of the world supply and is mostly cultivated in West Africa and Brazil; and Trinitario, consisting of various hybrids.
