Cyber defense is the practice of defending important computer-based information systems and networks from attack. Of primary concern is the protection of the information as it is stored and processed by computer systems and transmitted across networks. The three most important aspects of information that need to be protected, often referred to as the security triad, are its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
