Real Assets consist of Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS), commodities, and exposure to the real estate asset class, including both private real estate investments and also Real Estate Investment Trust Securities (REITS). Historically, real assets have typically generated income and total returns that follow inflation (the TIPS component is included especially for inflation protection).
