ring-opening polymerization

The formation of macromolecules are formed from cyclic monomers such as cyclic hydrocarbons, ethers, esters, amides, siloxanes, and sulfur (eight-membered ring). Thus, ring-opening polymerization is of particular interest, since macromolecules of almost any chemical structure can be prepared.
