A professional who tends equipment that transfers steel slabs from conveyor onto charging table of reheating furnace. Respnsibilities include:

• Moves controls to transfer slab from conveyor onto depiler.
• Measures slab for conformance to specifications, using tape, and compares identifying marks on slab with information on charging schedule.
• Pushes levers to lower depiler table and cause pushoff arm of depiler to push slab onto charging table.
• Assists furnace crew in cleaning bottom of furnace and hearth and in positioning slabs in furnace.
